5 things to look for in a commercial cleaner in Brisbane
Check five things before you hire a commercial cleaner in Brisbane: how they show you the work, a fixed and itemised scope, current insurance and WHS documents, a real point of contact and whether they can work around your hours. Most businesses only find the gaps after something goes wrong.
1. Do they show you the work?
Skipped or rushed cleans are the most common complaint about commercial cleaners. Ask how a provider shows you what was done. Before and after photos are a good start. A sign-in sheet on its own tells you very little.
2. Is the scope itemised and fixed?
A vague quote (“general office clean, $X/week”) hides what you’re getting. A good cleaner gives you a line-by-line scope covering floors, washrooms, kitchens, high-touch points and bins, with a fixed price. If something’s missed, there’s a written standard to hold them to.
3. Are they insured and compliant?
Any commercial site needs a cleaner with current public liability insurance, a WHS management approach and an SDS register. Good providers hand these over without hesitation. If they stall, walk away.
4. Who do you actually call?
When a clean gets missed the day before a client visit, you need someone who answers. Ask who your point of contact is and how issues get escalated. One accountable contact beats a call centre every time.
5. Can they work around your hours?
Cleaning shouldn’t get in the way of your team. Ask whether they clean after hours or before you open.
