Office cleaning checklist: what a professional clean should include
A professional office clean covers workstations, high-touch points, washrooms, kitchens, floors, reception, meeting rooms and bins. Some jobs happen every visit and some on a schedule. Use this list to compare what your cleaner does with what a proper service includes.
Every visit
- Empty bins and replace liners
- Wipe and sanitise desks and high-touch points like door handles, switches and lift buttons
- Clean and restock washrooms: toilets, basins, mirrors, soap and paper
- Wipe kitchen benches, the sink, appliance fronts and tables
- Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors
- Spot-clean glass doors and reception
- Tidy meeting rooms
Weekly or periodic
- Dust skirting boards, ledges, sills and vents
- Detail-vacuum edges and under furniture
- Clean internal glass and partitions
- Descale washroom fittings
Deep cleans on a schedule
- Carpet steam cleaning
- Strip and seal or buff hard floors
- High dusting and light fittings
- Window cleaning, inside and out
Get it in writing
A checklist only helps if it’s part of the agreement. Ask for the scope in writing, line by line.
