EOFY cleaning contract review: a checklist for Brisbane facilities managers

The end of the financial year is a good time to review your cleaning contract. Check four things: performance, compliance, scope and value. Rolling a contract over without checking is how buildings end up paying too much for too little.

1. Performance

  • Did every scheduled clean actually happen?
  • Did the standard hold up across the year?
  • How many issues came up and how fast were they fixed?

2. Compliance

  • Are public liability, WHS documents and the SDS register current?
  • Is prequalification through Cm3 or Rapid Global still valid?

3. Scope vs reality

  • Has the way the building is used changed? Think headcount, tenancies and hours.
  • Is the frequency still right? Are you paying for visits you don’t need or missing ones you do?

4. Value

  • Is the price still fair for what’s delivered?
  • Can your cleaner show you the work? Or are you paying on trust?

Why now

Reviewing before the new financial year gives you time to renegotiate the scope, tighten the agreement or switch providers cleanly.
